I am Yolande van den Boom, a textile designer by profession and since 2009 I have been giving crochet workshops to beginners and advanced students in groups and individually, I live and work in Eindhoven.
After graduating from the fashion academy, I worked as a fashion designer for 10 years. Since 15 years I have focused on the wide range of handicraft techniques of which crochet has become my specialization.
In addition to my free work (vandenboomvanfransvanpiete.nl) and my work as a teacher, I work as a free-lance designer, I am the author of the book “Haken in Ibiza style” (published by Forte), I sell crochet patterns and crochet products via the webshop, and when I have time I write a little story on my blog.
My love for crafts and textiles in general is due to my mother and my aunt. For me, these beautiful women were the model of attention, craftsmanship, quality and cosiness. And that is exactly what I strive for in my work and at all crochet workshops.
I get the inspiration for my work from the lovely people around me, from all colors, nature, travel, art, the seasons, music, silence and of course, trying endlessly. One thing is certain! Every day is too short for me.
